Edgewood Chorale

The Edgewood Chorale offers Edgewood students and Madison-area singers with the opportunity to perform larger choral works in collaboration with the Edgewood Chamber Orchestra. It is open to any interested singer and no audition is required. Music is provided. The choir rehearses on Tuesday evenings, September – December, and January-May, from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.

Edgewood College Chamber Singers

The Chamber Singers is Edgewood's premiere a cappella choral ensemble, open to students of all majors. This ensemble focuses on the exciting process of generating musical expression from a cohesive community of student-musicians. The choir performs literature from the medieval period to the 21st Century, participating in multiple concerts throughout the school year. Prerequisites: A vocal audition and consent of the instructor.

Chamber Singers

Edgewood College Concert Band

The Edgewood College Concert Band provides Edgewood students and Madison-area community musicians with the opportunity to perform outstanding wind literature. The band has performed a variety of works, ranging from classic British band literature of the early 20th century to transcriptions, as well as marches and modern compositions. The group charges no admission for concerts, but often collects a free-will offering for Luke House, a local community meal program. The group rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 7:00-9:00 PM.

Edgweood College Chamber Orchestra

The Edgewood Chamber Orchestra consists of Edgewood students and outstanding Madison-area community members. New members must audition. The orchestra performs a variety of works suitable for chamber orchestra.

Edgewood students are also invited to participate in the Madison Community Orchestra, a full-sized orchestra.

Edgewood College Guitar Ensemble

The Edgewood College Guitar Ensemble is an acoustic guitar group that performs music ranging from medieval dances to modern compositions. They can be heard performing with other groups, providing music for various events or featured in their own concerts both on and off campus. The Guitar Ensemble rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 6:00–8:00 p.m. An informal audition is required.

Edgweood College Jazz Ensemble

The Edgewood College Jazz Ensemble is a campus-community group, consisting of Edgewood College students and community members, some of whom are students at UW-Madison.
The jazz ensemble performs a wide variety of jazz literature from big band "classics" to modern works. This group performs at numerous yearly events, ranging from on-campus receptions and concerts to off-campus dances. The group rehearses on Thursday evenings from 6:00-8:00 PM.

Edgweood College West African Drumming

A performance-based drumming class with an emphasis on the role of drumming in a variety of West African cultures and the transformation of such styles in cultures throughout the world. Prerequisites: None.

West African Drumming

Edgewood College Middle Eastern Drumming

Students will learn and perform basic techniques on percussion instruments representing a variety of Middle Eastern cultures, and will use the musical experience as a lens through which to view sociocultural issues. In addition to playing drums, students will study recordings, artwork, and literary works, exploring the greater cultural traditions beyond the music. Islam, Judaism, Christianity, and Sufism will be addressed.

Edgewood College Women's Choir performs a wide variety of traditional and modern music specifically for women's voices. All women are welcome - no audition is required! Rehearsals are at noon on Mondays and Wednesdays. Come join us!.
